In some modules, you will learn and collaborate with students from other health and social care courses. This approach will help you to deliver person centred-care with an understanding of how other professionals contribute to the person's journey through health and social care services.**How you learn**This course equips you with the expertise, interpersonal skills and managerial ability needed for nursing those with mental health issues.You'll study in our facilities, and apply your skills across 40 weeks of practice-based learning. These placements take place in hospitals and homes across the region. You'll be supported throughout your placements by practice supervisors and practice assessors. Graduation ensures your eligibility for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.You learn through- practice-based learning- study in our advanced clinical suites- lectures and seminars- examination- coursework- case studies- presentations**Applied learningWork placements**Practice-based learning is central to your development, and you spend 40 weeks of your course on placement. You gain experience in a diverse range of mental health nursing settings.Placements are across South Yorkshire and the Humber, with some of the UK's leading healthcare providers. On your placements, you are assigned suitably prepared practice supervisors and practice assessors. They support you and make sure you are comfortable in your surroundings, so you make the most of the experience.You care for people with mental health problems, helping them to live their lives as normally as possible. Graduate Diploma from: Radio and TV Universities; Spare Time Universities; Training Colleges for Administrative cadres; Higher Education Self Study Examinations; Adult Education/Adult Education in Science and Technology subjects; Senior High School Diploma; Chinese University Entrance Examination (until 2003); College Graduation Diploma (Dazhuan awarded by university/college on completion of 2-3 years study). Applicants who have completed the first year of an undergraduate degree at a Chinese university may be considered for direct entry to Sheffield Hallam University undergraduate programmes. Sheffield Hallam welcomes applications from international school students taking the International Baccalaureate Diploma and those achieving 28 points or more will usually be successful in obtaining an offer of a place on our undergraduate programmes.
