You’ll graduate with the qualifications and credentials you need to enter practice.he course is comprised of integrated health and social care modules, based around the central theme of learning disabilities which explore and develop your nursing and social work practice. There is also a strong emphasis on multidisciplinary collaborative teaching and learning throughout the programme.You’ll be equipped with the knowledge, skills and values that enhance your employment opportunities, give you a strong professional identity as well as confidence in working with different professional groups and agencies to develop solutions to real world practice issues.• practice-based learning• lectures, seminars and workshops• simulations• online learning**Applied learning****Work placements**Practice-based learning is central to your development, and you spend 50% of your course on placement. Placements are available in a wide range of environments such as health trusts, advocacy organisations, local authorities, nursing homes, specialist teams, secure environments, assessment and treatment centres and community settings.The range of placement opportunities is very diverse and reflects rapidly changing health and social care landscapes. This culminates with a 20 week integrated placement in your third year, where you take on your own caseload of patients or service users, preparing you for your future career.During placement you will be supported by practice based and education based staff to guide and support you.**Networking opportunities**In order to support you to become lifelong independent learners, we keep you informed about local and national study days, conferences and programmes which are available to nursing and social work students, including Mencap-Treat Me Well and Positive Choices.We have excellent relationships with service users and practice partners who support and inform teaching on the course. You will also have a broad range of multi disciplinary learning experiences which will support you to develop a diverse network of collaborative support.**Field trips**In your second year you have an opportunity to undertake an elective placement exploring the national and global contexts of learning disability nursing and social work.**Accreditation**This course is approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). Graduates are eligible to apply to register with them. You must be registered with the NMC in order to practise as a nurse in the UK.This course was approved by the previous social work regulator, the Health and Care Professions Council. From 2 December 2019, responsibility for the approval of courses transferred to Social Work England. This course remains approved by Social Work England. This means that people qualifying from this course can apply to become a registered social worker.所属院系

Graduate Diploma from: Radio and TV Universities; Spare Time Universities; Training Colleges for Administrative cadres; Higher Education Self Study Examinations; Adult Education/Adult Education in Science and Technology subjects; Senior High School Diploma; Chinese University Entrance Examination (until 2003); College Graduation Diploma (Dazhuan awarded by university/college on completion of 2-3 years study). Applicants who have completed the first year of an undergraduate degree at a Chinese university may be considered for direct entry to Sheffield Hallam University undergraduate programmes. Sheffield Hallam welcomes applications from international school students taking the International Baccalaureate Diploma and those achieving 28 points or more will usually be successful in obtaining an offer of a place on our undergraduate programmes.
