On this course, you’ll develop the knowledge and skills you need for the role, as set out by the Faculty of Physician Associates. When you graduate, you’ll have industry experience and life-long academic skills for this rewarding career — and be ready to take the National exam.**How you learn**This course blends theory and practice — preparing you for industry.You’ll take six taught modules based around the medical knowledge and skills you need to pass the National Physician Associate examinations. These examinations are compulsory for qualification as a physician associate.Your studies will then be applied to the real world of medicine, where you’ll do everything from history taking and patient examination to management planning. You’ll work in real primary and secondary care settings, over the course of 1600 hours.**You learn through**- case-based discussion- problem-based learning- peer-directed learning- clinical placement**Applied learningWork placements**The course consists of 1600 hours of clinical placement within both primary care and secondary care. Secondary care placements cover general medicine, general surgery, front door medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, mental health and paediatrics. Each placement follows from related taught content, so that you are able to put theory into practice.**Networking opportunities**Regional careers fairs are organised each year. At these fairs you are able to meet with representatives from a number of CCGs and hospital Trusts. You are able to meet potential employers and also get a sense of what each job has to offer.

为来自中国的学生设计 The following qualifications from China will be considered for entry on to undergraduate programmes, with a minimum average of 60 per cent: Diploma from Specialised College (Zhongzhnan); Diploma from Vocational Secondary School (Zhixiao); Three year middle school diploma plus foundation degree; and A levels. Graduate Diploma from: Radio and TV Universities; Spare Time Universities; Training Colleges for Administrative cadres; Higher Education Self Study Examinations; Adult Education/Adult Education in Science and Technology subjects; Senior High School Diploma; Chinese University Entrance Examination (until 2003); College Graduation Diploma (Dazhuan awarded by university/college on completion of 2-3 years study). Applicants who have completed the first year of an undergraduate degree at a Chinese university may be considered for direct entry to Sheffield Hallam University undergraduate programmes. Sheffield Hallam welcomes applications from international school students taking the International Baccalaureate Diploma and those achieving 28 points or more will usually be successful in obtaining an offer of a place on our undergraduate programmes. IELTS for UKVI 6.0; Listening: minimum level 5.5; Speaking: minimum level 5.5; Reading: minimum level 5.5; Writing: minimum level 5.5.
