Pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from University of Houston-Clear Lake’s College of Human Sciences and Humanities puts you on the path to exploring solutions to some of society’s greatest challenges. You will gain valuable perspective from a faculty that specializes in areas including family sociology, medical sociology, immigration, religion, race and ethnic relations, and conflict resolution. A Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from UHCL provides a solid foundation for entrance into a number of professions, including business, social services, public relations, education, nonprofit organizations, human resources and law. Our faculty members specialize in sociology of the family, immigration, medical sociology, race and ethnic relations, religion, social inequality, complex organizations and nonprofit organizations, and conflict resolution. As an undergraduate sociology student, you can acquire needed insights into the social issues that influence the way people work at all levels in the community and in the operation of organizations and corporations. To help you further organize your coursework and career focus, you can opt to choose from the following concentrations: Criminology, Diversity, Family Sociology, Health and Medicine, Legal Studies, Urban Studies, Women's Studies, or Work and Occupations.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants who have attended an institution located outside the United States must: Possess the equivalent of a U.S. high school/secondary diploma. Proof of English Language Proficiency: Your minimum scores must be: 550 on the paper-based TOEFL exam; 79 on the TOEFL (iBT) exam; 6.0 on the IELTS exam, 53 on the PTE exam; or, you can successfully complete level 112 in the ELS Intensive English Language program.
