Mechanical engineers are in high demand – especially in the Houston area. New mechanical engineers earn an average starting salary of $65,557 (National Association of Colleges and Employers 2017). In Texas, the mean annual salary for a mechanical engineer is about 22 percent higher than the rest of the nation (U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics). A degree in mechanical engineering from UH-Clear Lake can propel you to a career in aerospace, automotive, construction, healthcare technology, oil and gas, utilities, manufacturing, transportation, defense, cybersecurity, robotics, Internet of Things and elsewhere. As new technologies, new industries and new opportunities emerge, they’ll most likely need mechanical engineers.

Gain hands-on experience with 12 specialty rooms designed for mechanical-engineering projects, computer-aided drafting, 3-D printing and more. The mechanical engineering program is approved from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (August 2018).

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants who have attended an institution located outside the United States must: Possess the equivalent of a U.S. high school/secondary diploma. Proof of English Language Proficiency: Your minimum scores must be: 550 on the paper-based TOEFL exam; 79 on the TOEFL (iBT) exam; 6.0 on the IELTS exam, 53 on the PTE exam; or, you can successfully complete level 112 in the ELS Intensive English Language program.
