Teach About the World

Take your knowledge of the world into junior and senior high school classrooms with University of Houston-Clear Lake's Bachelor of Science in Geography with a 7-12 Social Studies Certification. The program prepares critically minded, prospective teachers who are knowledgeable in the history and social science fields and can take that into the classroom. You will learn balance content and process to achieve thoughtfully formulated didactic, reflective, and effective goals for student learning. At UHCL, our program's degree plans offer a flexible, interdisciplinary course of study designed to foster significant perspectives on the world around us.

UHCL's College of Human Sciences and Humanities partners with the College of Education for the Social Studies 7-12 certification that prepares tomorrow's teachers. Comprehensive in design, the coursework prepares graduates to design and implement curricula grounded in the thinking processes required of a variety of social sciences. Students will choose from classes that cover geography internationally, as well as looks at the urban, economic and social aspects that comprise our world.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants who have attended an institution located outside the United States must: Possess the equivalent of a U.S. high school/secondary diploma. Proof of English Language Proficiency: Your minimum scores must be: 550 on the paper-based TOEFL exam; 79 on the TOEFL (iBT) exam; 6.0 on the IELTS exam, 53 on the PTE exam; or, you can successfully complete level 112 in the ELS Intensive English Language program.
