An IT Program with a Business Focus

A Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from the University of Houston-Clear Lake prepares you for many careers that rely heavily on everyday technological needs with a focus on practical applications of technology to support organizations while adding value to their offerings. Moreover, you will learn how to take computer technology and put it to use in commercial environments while being exposed to cutting-edge technology including web development, JAVA, databases, .NET and network and web security.

A Degree Delivering Real-World Expertise

The Computer Information Systems program will prepare you for technical, administrative and management careers in the analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, support, operation and management of computer information systems. The emphasis of the degree is a broad general education and upper-level studies in computer science and other areas related to information systems, such as management, communication, and accounting.

The Program Educational Objectives of the Computer Information Systems (CIS) program strike a balance between theory and practice of computer science and computer information systems. This balance satisfies both regional and national needs. Graduates of the CIS program will be equipped with sound technical knowledge and skills, and an understanding of Information Systems environments. They are provided a broad education to attain productive employment, prepare them for success in further studies, and continue lifelong learning.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants who have attended an institution located outside the United States must: Possess the equivalent of a U.S. high school/secondary diploma. Proof of English Language Proficiency: Your minimum scores must be: 550 on the paper-based TOEFL exam; 79 on the TOEFL (iBT) exam; 6.0 on the IELTS exam, 53 on the PTE exam; or, you can successfully complete level 112 in the ELS Intensive English Language program.
