在这里学什么？ - Learn the skills you'll need to become a professional industrial designer or technological product designe- Challenge existing thinking and create engaging, sustainable and ‘disruptive’ market-ready product designs.- Experiment with technologies, techniques, materials and processes in state-of-the-art studios.- Develop the advanced digital visualisation, analysis and production skills that employers look for.This course prepares you for an exciting career as a globally-minded designer, equipped to identify and respond to future challenges. You’ll experience employability-driven learning through real-world projects. You'll be equipped with the visual and technical skills necessary to become an industrial designer or technological product designer.**How you learn**You'll learn from staff who are actively involved in research and commercial design delivery. Through our engaging project briefs, you'll explore creative thinking, sustainable design, enabling technologies, new product development, advanced 3D CAD and design for manufacture. These experiences help you to innovate and instigate change. Placements give you real-world experience to prepare for your future career. Previous students have secured placements with companies including Black & Decker, Bosch, DePuy Synthes, Gripple and JCB.**Live projects** You'll engage in authentic work experiences in each year of the course, working with external partners and live briefs. We have excellent relationships with a vast range of companies – from exciting start-ups to large multinational organisations. You'll undertake a range of projects set by external organisations. You’ll build competencies as you apply design thinking from taught sessions to real-world contexts, pitching project outcomes to company representatives and potentially receiving payment for designs. Recently our students have worked on consumer electronics, the Internet of Things (IOT) and sustainable ‘circular economy’ products.**Field trips** We offer opportunities to go on study trips and visits in the UK and abroad – with free travel and accommodation for all mandatory field trips on the course. These could include workshops, design exhibitions or visits to practitioners’ studios and museums. Recent trip destinations include the Design Museum, BMW i3 factory and McLaren. There may be opportunities to further enhance your studies with optional field trips, though these will incur additional costs. **Networking opportunities** Sheffield Hallam's Careers Connect mentoring scheme allows you to gain professional insights and support from a personal mentor working in your field of interest. We also organise an annual two-day employability event, allowing you to network with commercial partners and participate in one-to-one portfolio reviews. Our annual degree show is a great opportunity for graduating students to showcase their work.**Competitions** We'll support you to enter national and international design competitions. Recent successes include the RSA Student Design Awards and four prizes

为来自中国的学生设计 The following qualifications from China will be considered for entry on to undergraduate programmes, with a minimum average of 60 per cent: Diploma from Specialised College (Zhongzhnan); Diploma from Vocational Secondary School (Zhixiao); Three year middle school diploma plus foundation degree; and A levels. Graduate Diploma from: Radio and TV Universities; Spare Time Universities; Training Colleges for Administrative cadres; Higher Education Self Study Examinations; Adult Education/Adult Education in Science and Technology subjects; Senior High School Diploma; Chinese University Entrance Examination (until 2003); College Graduation Diploma (Dazhuan awarded by university/college on completion of 2-3 years study). Applicants who have completed the first year of an undergraduate degree at a Chinese university may be considered for direct entry to Sheffield Hallam University undergraduate programmes. Sheffield Hallam welcomes applications from international school students taking the International Baccalaureate Diploma and those achieving 28 points or more will usually be successful in obtaining an offer of a place on our undergraduate programmes. IELTS for UKVI 6.0; Listening: minimum level 5.5; Speaking: minimum level 5.5; Reading: minimum level 5.5; Writing: minimum level 5.5.
