专业概况

The joining of these two disciplines provides a powerful way to address modern questions of biology. The department offers MS and PhD degree programs in Pharmacology and Physiology. These programs are designed to prepare students for rewarding teaching and/or research careers in academia, government or the pharmaceutical and biotechnical industries.

The master’s program is two years. Master’s students are required to serve as teaching assistants for each semester in the program. The first year consists of required coursework, teaching assistantships and laboratory experiences. By the end of the first semester, students are expected to have selected a laboratory and mentor for either the thesis or non-thesis track and to form their thesis advisory committee. The second year consists of a continuation of coursework, ongoing thesis work and the defense of the thesis project.

为来自中国的学生设计 Minimum Admission Requirements: Have earned a U.S. bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited institution. Have earned a 3.0 or better GPA in the last 60 hours of baccalaureate coursework (for applicants with less than a master’s degree). Language Requirements: TOEFL Internet-based - 80 (Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing - 17 each), IELTS Academic - 6.5 (Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing - 6 each), PTE - 59, Cambridge C1 Advanced - 180.
