在这里学什么? * Prepare for the degree with an extra foundation year at the start.* Learn the specific skills needed to create memorable event experiences, both physically and virtually, demonstrating business value for employers and clients.* Study the essential aspects of planning and delivering safe and effective events, from delivering persuasive pitches to delivering the event itself.* Specialise in the area of your choice.In a fast-growing industry, take on the challenge of delivering memorable events. At the end of your second year you can choose to specialise in one of the following four areas tourism, arts and entertainment, experiential marketing, or leisure management and sports events. Your final degree will reflect the specialism in its title, boosting your career prospects in that field.**How you learn**The course is suitable if you don't meet the entry requirements for our BSc (Hons) International Events Management course, or you want extra preparation before starting degree-level study. You share the first year with other Sheffield Business School foundation year students, then move on to the degree.You develop your skills through a combination of seminars and workshops, by attending lectures and by completing projects. International and national field trips, site visits and work with external organisations enhance your engagement and understanding of the complexities and challenges of operating in the international events industry.Other methods used include* live events* guest speakers* problem solving exercises* case studies* individual and group presentations* directed learning activitiesThis course includes two externally accredited (industry recognised) qualifications: the BIIAB Level 2 Award for Personal License Holders and the IOSH Managing Events Safely award. Both enhance your employability and are included for free.In the foundation year, you'll study wider business topics, while specialising in your chosen subject area. You'll learn useful skills such as academic writing, work in diverse teams and learn to utilise a wide variety of data sources. In doing so, you'll fully prepare yourself for undergraduate study.**Applied learningWork placements**You will have the opportunity to undertake a year-long work placement in between your third and fourth years. This gives you a real-world experience to prepare you for your future career. Through our strong relationships with employers we can help you to secure a valuable placement opportunity and support you whilst you're there. We have a team of staff and tutors who will support you to find the placement that suits your ambitions.Alternatively, you can complete the Learning in the Workplace semester where you work and study at the same time, with academic lessons carried out remotely during allocated study periods while on placement. This is recognised by the University as a placement and offers you a quicker way to complete your studies and gain work experience in four rather than five years. By successfully completing this experience, you will be able to obtain 'placement' in your degree title and enter directly into the final year of studies.**Live projects**Activity-based learning is used throughout the course to develop key skills, culminating in the final year where you will design, plan, market and deliver an event, either for a local charity or a business client, using all of the skills, knowledge and experience gained throughout the course.Throughout the course, our links with local and national event organisers mean that you will be able to undertake work experience in a variety of event sectors. 为来自中国的学生设计 The following qualifications from China will be considered for entry on to undergraduate programmes, with a minimum average of 60 per cent: Diploma from Specialised College (Zhongzhnan); Diploma from Vocational Secondary School (Zhixiao); Three year middle school diploma plus foundation degree; and A levels. Graduate Diploma from: Radio and TV Universities; Spare Time Universities; Training Colleges for Administrative cadres; Higher Education Self Study Examinations; Adult Education/Adult Education in Science and Technology subjects; Senior High School Diploma; Chinese University Entrance Examination (until 2003); College Graduation Diploma (Dazhuan awarded by university/college on completion of 2-3 years study). Applicants who have completed the first year of an undergraduate degree at a Chinese university may be considered for direct entry to Sheffield Hallam University undergraduate programmes. Sheffield Hallam welcomes applications from international school students taking the International Baccalaureate Diploma and those achieving 28 points or more will usually be successful in obtaining an offer of a place on our undergraduate programmes.
