Analytical chemists explore the composition and structure of substances to better understand how they behave under different conditions. Governors State’s Master of Science in Analytical Chemistry prepares students for employment in public and private laboratories specializing in advanced analytical instrumentation and wet chemical methods. Analytical chemists are highly valued in many fields for their abilities to promote safety, ensure regulatory compliance, support healthcare innovation, and solve industry-related problems.

This graduate major is designed to build upon an undergraduate background in chemistry or a related field, providing a theoretical base in analytical chemistry and practical experience with analytical instrumentation.
