On this course, you'll explore complex political, economic, social and cultural geographies — understanding and responding to the ever-changing world around us.**How you learn**A variety of teaching methods are used, creating a stimulating learning environment. You're exposed to a variety of viewpoints from module tutors and their peers to become aware of the current debates within human geography. Learning from first-hand experience is a key part of the teaching approach on this degree.You learn through:- lectures- field work- seminars- tutorials- case study analyses- group debates and discussion- poster presentations- projects based on real-life challenges, locations and organisations- assessment tasks- practical classes in IT suites There are opportunities to study abroad at one of our partner universities with the possibility of funding through the Erasmus programme (subject to the UK’s continued participation in the Erasmus programme following the Brexit transition period).**Applied learningWork placements**You will have the opportunity to arrange a year-long work placement in between your second and third years. This gives you a real-world experience to prepare you for your future career. This may involve working with private companies or government and voluntary organisations in the UK or Europe.You may be able to study abroad as part of the Erasmus programme (subject to the UK’s continued participation in the Erasmus programme following the Brexit transition period). It's a great opportunity to focus on a career path and gain the skills, knowledge and experience to find a job after you graduate. Sheffield Hallam University has Erasmus and international study exchange agreements with over 100 institutions in 25 different countries. Current exchange locations include Prague, Paris, Neuchatel (Switzerland), Georgia (USA), Ontario and Victoria (Australia).**Field trips**There is a strong emphasis on the importance of developing your skills in the field, and gaining valuable first-hand experiences. You take part in a substantial amount of UK-based fieldwork, which includes local activities as well as a week-long residential trip outside Sheffield. Overseas residential field courses also form an integral part of the course, such as a week in New York, Amsterdam and Spain.

为来自中国的学生设计 The following qualifications from China will be considered for entry on to undergraduate programmes, with a minimum average of 60 per cent: Diploma from Specialised College (Zhongzhnan); Diploma from Vocational Secondary School (Zhixiao); Three year middle school diploma plus foundation degree; and A levels. Graduate Diploma from: Radio and TV Universities; Spare Time Universities; Training Colleges for Administrative cadres; Higher Education Self Study Examinations; Adult Education/Adult Education in Science and Technology subjects; Senior High School Diploma; Chinese University Entrance Examination (until 2003); College Graduation Diploma (Dazhuan awarded by university/college on completion of 2-3 years study). Applicants who have completed the first year of an undergraduate degree at a Chinese university may be considered for direct entry to Sheffield Hallam University undergraduate programmes. Sheffield Hallam welcomes applications from international school students taking the International Baccalaureate Diploma and those achieving 28 points or more will usually be successful in obtaining an offer of a place on our undergraduate programmes. IELTS for UKVI 6.0; Listening: minimum level 5.5; Speaking: minimum level 5.5; Reading: minimum level 5.5; Writing: minimum level 5.5.
