A Flexible, Practical Degree Option for Early Childhood Educators

A child’s first years are his most formative and lay the critical foundation for emotional, intellectual and physical growth. Your Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with Core Subjects EC-6 with a concentration in Early Childhood Education from the University of Houston-Clear Lake prepares you with skills needed to help cultivate healthy growth in children. With your Core Subjects EC-6 teacher certification, you’ll be well trained to teach in an elementary school classroom. Your coursework will include the study of child and adolescent development, instruction and assessment and language development for EC-6 content areas.

Teach Young Children from Diverse Backgrounds and Positively Impact the Entire Family

You’ll acquire the tools to teach diverse learners, curriculum and assessment, instructional strategies, child development, family and community relations and leadership skills, and you’ll acquire knowledge to implement the building blocks that will shape your students’ lives for the better.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants who have attended an institution located outside the United States must: Possess the equivalent of a U.S. high school/secondary diploma. Proof of English Language Proficiency: Your minimum scores must be: 550 on the paper-based TOEFL exam; 79 on the TOEFL (iBT) exam; 6.0 on the IELTS exam, 53 on the PTE exam; or, you can successfully complete level 112 in the ELS Intensive English Language program.
