Our dynamic and interdisciplinary MSc Sustainability and Social Justice programme is designed to challenge current thinking on the way in which individuals engage with, and organisations operate within, an increasingly turbulent global environment.

The 1 year full-time (2 years part-time) programme aims to develop your critical skills as an undergraduate or manager seeking to develop sustainable organisational strategies, policies and practices. The course facilitates critical learning, which is respectful of socio-cultural differences nationally and internationally, and enables you to apply holistic knowledge derived from politics, economics, culture and management to a range of contemporary global and social justice issues. For example, the fashion industry faces increasing pressures to become more sustainable; not only in fast fashion, with sustainable sourcing and production, but also in luxury fashion, with corporate social responsibility. Such matters across industries will be examined from multiple sustainability and social justice perspectives to discuss potential solutions and scopes for future directions.

You will benefit from research informed teaching from cross-department specialists within the Business School and across the University, and an excellent working and learning environment. By engaging with academic works and current management case studies you will develop the practical wisdom, strategic knowledge and managerial skills essential for successful future careers in organisations with an innovative and sustainable global outlook.

As a graduate of our well-rounded programme, you will be equipped to enter careers in a wide-range of sectors including consultancy, communications and advocacy, government research, national and international charities, NGOs, think tanks, business and social enterprise where you will be able to develop sustainable organisational strategies and policies.
