专业概况

The Department of Pathology and Anatomical Sciences in the School of Medicine, along with the department of Veterinary Pathobiology in the College of Veterinary Medicine, offers a PhD degree through the Pathobiology Area Program (optional focus in Integrative Anatomy). Faculty also participate in other doctoral programs such as the Integrative Neuroscience Program, Genetics Area Program, and Molecular Pharmacology and Physiology. The MS degree is designed primarily to prepare students for supervisory roles in basic-science and clinical laboratories, and to offer greater in-depth study in pathology and anatomical sciences concurrent with studies leading to the PhD and/or MD degree.

Pathology and the anatomical sciences form a bridge between the basic sciences and clinical medicine. Anatomical sciences provide understanding of the structure and function of the body; pathology provides understanding of genetic, biochemical, and structural bases of virtually all disease processes and provides diagnoses from that perspective. At the University of Missouri School of Medicine, Pathology and Anatomical Sciences are together in a single academic department encompassing all of these areas.

All graduate programs, including both master’s and doctoral degrees in the Department of Pathology and Anatomical Sciences are research-based. Thus, the selection of an appropriate graduate adviser is a critical part of the application procedure. Have earned a 3.0 or better GPA in the last 60 hours of baccalaureate coursework (for applicants with less than a master’s degree). Language Requirements: TOEFL Internet-based - 80 (Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing - 17 each), IELTS Academic - 6.5 (Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing - 6 each), PTE - 59, Cambridge C1 Advanced - 180.
