The online master's degree in library and information science from MU will help you develop the knowledge and skills you need to be an information expert in the information age. If you want to advance your career providing relevant and meaningful services to library users, this may be the degree for you.

Program structure and topics

You can complete this program entirely online or take advantage of occasional face-to-face courses at one of five locations in Missouri and Nebraska.

Courses are semester-based, though some courses are in an eight-week format. Students typically take one or two classes each semester and finish in three to four years. Students who attend full-time typically finish in two years.

Most library and information science faculty are based in Columbia, with clinical faculty in St. Louis and Kansas City.

为来自中国的学生设计 Minimum Admission Requirements: Have earned a U.S. bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited institution. Have earned a 3.0 or better GPA in the last 60 hours of baccalaureate coursework (for applicants with less than a master’s degree). Language Requirements: TOEFL Internet-based - 80 (Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing - 17 each), IELTS Academic - 6.5 (Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing - 6 each), PTE - 59, Cambridge C1 Advanced - 180.
