专业概况
在这里学什么?The Master of Nanoengineering (MNAE) is an on campus and distance education program and is designed for students with an undergraduate degree in a science or engineering discipline who wish to pursue a graduate degree in nanoengineering. The field of nanoengineering is expected to revolutionize technology and improve quality of life, particularly as related to energy, environment, and health. Students will achieve an understanding of the fundamental advantages in nanoscale materials, devices and systems. It is a 30-credit hour degree program that does not require a thesis, final oral exam or on-campus residency. GRE scores are recommended but not required. NC State has an existing strength in nanostructured materials and devices.
These are the program objectives:
Objective: To train students effectively in the multi-disciplinary field of nanotechnology to achieve an understanding of the fundamental advantages in nanoscale materials, devices and systems To enable students to pursue an advanced technical degree and/or to succeed in careers in industry, government and academia To provide a successful interdisciplinary Masters degree program in nanoengineering that meets the needs of students, industry and academia

Students should be able to demonstrate a strong foundation in nanotechnology Students should be able to describe the novel physical and chemical properties of nanomaterials Students will achieve an advanced level of expertise in nanoengineering
Objective: To enable students to pursue an advanced technical degree and/or to succeed in careers in industry, government and academia
MNAE expected to place graduates in competitive positions in industry or government and/or acceptance to PhD programs Students who wish to have internships or participate in professional organizations/conferences are able to do so
Objective: To provide a successful interdisciplinary Masters degree program in nanoengineering that meets the needs of students, industry and academia
The program is expected to maintain an interdisciplinary faculty with an expertise in nanotechnology The program is expected t meet target enrollment increases in first four years The program is expected to graduate students who are satisfied with the effectiveness of the program to meet their professional goals The program is expected to graduate students who are satisfied with the overall graduate experience offered by the MNAE program
