We help you to grow academically, while obtaining sound practical and theoretical knowledge of teaching. You graduate a qualified, experienced primary teacher, with specialist expertise and industry connections.**How you learn**The course aims to integrate the practical and theoretical aspects of teaching. There are regular placement days from the first year onwards, culminating in practical assessments, and you undertake four national priority school-based placements. You conduct research in your specialist area, and will be taught to critically analyse key learning principles.You learn through:- lectures and seminars from expert tutors- regular school-based placements and research- one-to-one support from a personal academic tutor- research into a specialist area such as maths, science, PE or languages- range of e-learning materialsThere are opportunities to study abroad at one of our partner universities with the possibility of funding through the Erasmus programme (subject to the UK’s continued participation in the Erasmus programme following the Brexit transition period).**Applied learning****Work placements**Throughout the course you will work extensively in local and regional primary schools, starting with regular placement days and a practical assessment in your first year. You will develop your skills and knowledge in order to meet the Teachers' Standards in that setting.In second year, on top of an assessed placement, you undertake four national priority school-based training placements (SEND, EAL, Early Reading and Early Number). You also attend placement days in a specialist setting, in line with your chosen area of expertise.Your third year involves carrying out an individual educational enquiry project, which enables you to carry out school-based research in your specialism. You may be able to study abroad as part of the Erasmus programme (subject to the UK’s continued participation in the Erasmus programme following the Brexit transition period).

为来自中国的学生设计 The following qualifications from China will be considered for entry on to undergraduate programmes, with a minimum average of 60 per cent: Diploma from Specialised College (Zhongzhnan); Diploma from Vocational Secondary School (Zhixiao); Three year middle school diploma plus foundation degree; and A levels. Graduate Diploma from: Radio and TV Universities; Spare Time Universities; Training Colleges for Administrative cadres; Higher Education Self Study Examinations; Adult Education/Adult Education in Science and Technology subjects; Senior High School Diploma; Chinese University Entrance Examination (until 2003); College Graduation Diploma (Dazhuan awarded by university/college on completion of 2-3 years study). Applicants who have completed the first year of an undergraduate degree at a Chinese university may be considered for direct entry to Sheffield Hallam University undergraduate programmes. Sheffield Hallam welcomes applications from international school students taking the International Baccalaureate Diploma and those achieving 28 points or more will usually be successful in obtaining an offer of a place on our undergraduate programmes. IELTS for UKVI 6.0; Listening: minimum level 5.5; Speaking: minimum level 5.5; Reading: minimum level 5.5; Writing: minimum level 5.5.
