在这里学什么？ **Course summary**- Study your foundation year, then progress to a degree with industry accreditation from the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC).- Attain the knowledge to solve real-world chemistry problems in the context of biological, environmental, materials and pharmaceutical science.- Gain experience of industrially relevant analytical instrumentation and modern synthetic methodologies.- Achieve an appreciation of the importance of risk assessment protocols and development of project management skills.- Choose to transfer onto the MChem qualification.Develop the skills to achieve in a wide variety of employment, including industrial and academic research and development.Optional transfer to the MChem qualification is aimed at students wanting to pursue a career in research and is suitable for students who achieve good results during years one and two of the BSc route.**How you learn**The course is suitable if you don’t meet the entry requirements for our BSc (Hons) Chemistry course, or you want extra preparation before starting degree-level study. You share the first year with other biosciences and chemistry foundation year students, then move on to the degree.You learn not only practical skills, but also to keep effective records, analyse data, design and plan procedures. You work both independently and with others.**You learn through**- core lectures- laboratory work- small group academic tutorialsIn the foundation year, you’ll attain the academic and practical skills required for level 4 study. You’ll build your confidence in biology, chemistry and maths, and apply your theoretical knowledge in practical lab sessions. You’ll also familiarise yourself with Sheffield Hallam’s staff and facilities — ensuring that you’re fully prepared to begin as an undergraduate.**Applied learningWork placements**You will have the opportunity to arrange a year-long work placement in between your third and fourth years. This gives you a real-world experience to prepare you for your future career.**Networking opportunities**This course benefits from accreditation by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), which helps you to connect with the wider chemistry community.

为来自中国的学生设计 The following qualifications from China will be considered for entry on to undergraduate programmes, with a minimum average of 60 per cent: Diploma from Specialised College (Zhongzhnan); Diploma from Vocational Secondary School (Zhixiao); Three year middle school diploma plus foundation degree; and A levels. Graduate Diploma from: Radio and TV Universities; Spare Time Universities; Training Colleges for Administrative cadres; Higher Education Self Study Examinations; Adult Education/Adult Education in Science and Technology subjects; Senior High School Diploma; Chinese University Entrance Examination (until 2003); College Graduation Diploma (Dazhuan awarded by university/college on completion of 2-3 years study). Applicants who have completed the first year of an undergraduate degree at a Chinese university may be considered for direct entry to Sheffield Hallam University undergraduate programmes. Sheffield Hallam welcomes applications from international school students taking the International Baccalaureate Diploma and those achieving 28 points or more will usually be successful in obtaining an offer of a place on our undergraduate programmes. IELTS for UKVI 6.0; Listening: minimum level 5.5; Speaking: minimum level 5.5; Reading: minimum level 5.5; Writing: minimum level 5.5.
