在这里学什么？ **Course summary**• Prepare for the degree with an extra foundation year at the start.• Work alongside the country's only National Centre of Excellence for Food Engineering.• Gain skills that make you employable in a wide range of sectors.• Put the knowledge you learn in the classroom into practice in the laboratory.This course is designed to give you a strong engineering background in the key areas of chemical engineering with a focus on application of this knowledge in industry and to industrial problems and challenges.**How you learn**The course is suitable if you don’t meet the entry requirements for our BEng (Hons) Chemical Engineering course, or you want extra preparation before starting degree-level study. You share the first year with other engineering, maths and physics foundation year students, then move on to the degree.You learn through• lecturers• seminars• laboratory work• guest lectures• industrial visitsIn the foundation year, you’ll study the fundamental maths, science and engineering principles that you’ll need at undergraduate level, and apply them to a range of different topics. You’ll learn through many of the same techniques used on the degree course, and familiarise yourself with Sheffield Hallam and its facilities — ensuring that you’re ready to hit the ground running.**Applied learning****Work placements**You will have the opportunity to arrange a year-long work placement in between your third and fourth years. This is your chance to apply your academic knowledge in the work environment – and, in the process, improve your career prospects. It can even lead to the offer of a permanent job with your placement employer.

为来自中国的学生设计 The following qualifications from China will be considered for entry on to undergraduate programmes, with a minimum average of 60 per cent: Diploma from Specialised College (Zhongzhnan); Diploma from Vocational Secondary School (Zhixiao); Three year middle school diploma plus foundation degree; and A levels. Graduate Diploma from: Radio and TV Universities; Spare Time Universities; Training Colleges for Administrative cadres; Higher Education Self Study Examinations; Adult Education/Adult Education in Science and Technology subjects; Senior High School Diploma; Chinese University Entrance Examination (until 2003); College Graduation Diploma (Dazhuan awarded by university/college on completion of 2-3 years study). Applicants who have completed the first year of an undergraduate degree at a Chinese university may be considered for direct entry to Sheffield Hallam University undergraduate programmes. Sheffield Hallam welcomes applications from international school students taking the International Baccalaureate Diploma and those achieving 28 points or more will usually be successful in obtaining an offer of a place on our undergraduate programmes. IELTS for UKVI 6.0; Listening: minimum level 5.5; Speaking: minimum level 5.5; Reading: minimum level 5.5; Writing: minimum level 5.5.
