专业概况

在这里学什么？

The program takes a theoretical, critical, and experimental approach to the study of communication. The MA program is designed to further enhance the understanding of the communication process by allowing students to study various aspects of communication in greater depth. Graduates are employed in corporate communication, educational and instructional media, sales, research and consulting.

Our Master’s program is housed in a research-intensive program where M.A. students work alongside PhD students. The program prepares students for future scholarship endeavors while equipping students with tools that are transferable to the workplace.

Degree Requirements

A minimum of 30 hours of coursework beyond the B.A./B.S. is required. Typical full time student enrollment is 9 hours in the fall and spring semesters with the possibility of additional coursework in the summer. Coursework is typically completed in 1.5 years. Following completion of coursework, students will complete a Master’s thesis or complete a substantial independent project, including an oral defense of that thesis/project. Anticipated completion of the doctoral program under normal conditions is 24 months.

为来自中国的学生设计 Minimum Admission Requirements: Have earned a U.S. bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited institution. Have earned a 3.0 or better GPA in the last 60 hours of baccalaureate coursework (for applicants with less than a master’s degree). Language Requirements: TOEFL Internet-based - 80 (Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing - 17 each), IELTS Academic - 6.5 (Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing - 6 each), PTE - 59, Cambridge C1 Advanced - 180.
