专业概况

Solving complex, real-world problems begins with the ability to work collaboratively and think across multiple disciplines. Governors State’s Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies facilitates the development of skills in multimodal thinking, expanding beyond discipline-specific methodologies while developing knowledge of subject matter relevant to specific fields and problems.

The IDSS program offers transfer and adult students a customizable degree plan, which can be completed entirely online or on GSU's main campus, including a selection of week day, weekend or hybrid courses. The program is designed for completion over the course of three semesters.

First semester: Learn the foundational skills and knowledge required to become a disciplinary insider while learning interdisciplinary problem-solving methods.

Second semester: Develop skills further through hands-on application, including research, group projects, and an optional internship.

Third semester: Synthesize knowledge through the IDSS capstone experience, in which students conceive, complete, and articulate their work in a final, cumulative project.

The IDSS program emphasizes career exploration and encourages you to apply for an internship within your area of interest. The IDSS degree prepares you to enter a wide range of fields, including business, health, technology, and the natural and social sciences or to pursue graduate-level studies.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must have earned a high school diploma or GED 2.75 unweighted high school GPA on a 4.0 scale. IELTS report with the minimum acceptable score of 6.0 academic version; TOEFL, a minimum acceptable score is as follows: 500 on paper based with 53 on reading, 54 on writing, 53 on Listening, 173 on computer based with 20 on reading, 21 on writing, 19 on Listening and IBT score of 68 with 19 on reading, 16 on writing, 18 on Listening and 15 on speaking; Pearson Test of English PTE score 47: Listening - 48; Speaking - 40; Reading - 51; Writing - 43.
