在这里学什么?WHY STUDY GERMAN?
There are many reasons why learning a foreign language and in particular German is a great idea. Here are three important ones:
Learning a Foreign Language Makes You Smarter
The benefits of learning a foreign language go beyond the ability to order local food, to ask for directions when travelling abroad, to learn about other countries and cultures, or to add a skill to a CV. New research has shown that learning a foreign language will stimulate your brain in a way other subjects can't by enhancing important cognitive processes.
Learning German Is a Good Investment of Your Time
As reported in the article What is a foreign language worth?, the average lifetime earnings bonus for an American student in college who learns German is actually $128,000.
You Get to Know a Rich Culture
German has an enormously rich cultural heritage: a large percentage of the world's most impressive achievements were first conceived of in the German language.
