The Environmental Sciences major prepares students to understand and address environmental grand challenges and connecting sound scientific understanding to environmental policies.

Students in this major will be equipped for the future with opportunities for a wide range of environmental careers. The environmental industry in the US is a $265 billion annual business involving more than 32,000 individual companies/organizations. Graduates can work for state and federal agencies, private companies, as well as non-profits like the Nature Conservancy.

Environmental Sciences students take a strong foundation in math and science courses, core classes in environmental issues like climate change, and customize their degree by choosing a minor or designing their own 15 credit hour focal area. Our program combines broad environmental and science coursework with this focal area or specialization that can range from Environmental Communication to Geospatial Technologies to Environmental Justice (and much more!)
