在这里学什么？Today's complex financial markets require experts who not only understand how the markets work, but who also have the mathematical knowledge to uncover patterns and the technological skills to exploit them.
In the current marketplace, companies look for individuals who possess the following four attributes:
A thorough understanding of the financial markets along with complex financial structures, trading strategies and derivatives.
Sophisticated financial mathematical modeling skills along with the prerequisite knowledge of advanced probability, statistics, stochastic processes and time series analysis.
Knowledge of financial data modeling in the rapidly growing field of financial services analytics, which involves creating data-driven decision-making analytic tools for the financial services industry.
The master's in Financial Engineering combines the desired attributes of mathematical modeling, statistical analysis, finance, economics, computer programming skills and systems thinking to solve the financial challenges at the enterprise and the systemic level. The program provides students a fundamental understanding of domains applied in the quantification of financial systems and knowledge that is intrinsic in the structuring of financial products and markets.
The quantitative and systems-intensive perspective of the master's program prepares students to use financial engineering techniques to solve problems in securities valuation, risk management, portfolio structuring and regulatory concerns, with an emphasis on stochastic modeling, optimization and simulation techniques. The degree includes six required courses that emphasize quantitative finance, financial services analytics, financial risk and regulation, and financial systems. As part of the degree, students are encouraged to take an integrated four-course concentration that allows for additional expertise in a particular discipline of their choosing.
Concentrations
Students pursuing the master's degree in Financial Engineering can select one of five concentrations representing some of the most in-demand areas in industry. Alternatively, students can customize their degree further by working with an advisor to select four electives of their own.
